GoSnoop’s Hidden Bangkok is a three-hour detective game played on foot through Bangkok’s old town. Your team gets a physical kit of maps, clues, puzzles and investigation tools, and solves its way along a roughly 4 km route through temples, lanes and heritage sites. No app to stare at.

It starts with an in-person briefing from your host at the entrance to Mahakan Fort Park on Maha Chai Road, by Phan Fa Lilat Bridge: look for the white fort and the old city wall. That puts you between Wat Ratchanatdaram and its Loha Prasat and the Golden Mount, a short walk from the Democracy Monument. From there your team sets its own pace. The host stays reachable for hints throughout, so you won’t get stuck for long.

Teams are two to six players, which suits families, couples and groups of friends. Temple tickets, bottled water, soft drinks and snacks are included; getting to the meeting point is up to you.

Insider Tip: Arrive 15 minutes early, as the operator asks, and use the exact map pin in your booking confirmation. Maha Chai Road is busy, and the fort entrance is easy to overshoot.

Watch out: The route enters temples, so cover shoulders and knees. Four kilometres in Bangkok heat is more tiring than it sounds: bring a hat and sunscreen, and book a morning slot in the hot season (March to May).

If you’d rather have a guide explain the old town to you, a classic walking tour of the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun is the traditional alternative. This one is for people who’d rather work it out themselves.

What happens

Discover a side of Bangkok most visitors miss through an interactive cultural adventure in the heart of the historic Old Town. Explore centuries-old temples, local neighborhoods, hidden streets and heritage landmarks as you follow the trail of a mystery woven into the city around you. Armed with a physical detective kit, maps and clues, your group sets off on a carefully designed mission through Bangkok. Look closer at your surroundings, uncover hidden details, solve hands-on challenges and use what you discover about the places around you to progress through the story. Along the way, experience Bangkok's history and local heritage in a completely different way, not by simply following a guide, but by exploring, observing and uncovering the city for yourself. Your GoSnoop host provides an in-person mission briefing before you begin and remains available for hints and support throughout the adventure.
