The kitchen is open-air, set in the farm, with individual cooking stations kitted out with wok, knife, and clean utensils. You’ll cook a handful of classic Thai dishes — usually a curry paste made from scratch using a stone mortar, a stir-fry, a soup, and a dessert — tailored to what you want to learn rather than a fixed menu. The chefs have been running classes here since 2006, so instruction is practical and relaxed rather than rushed or showy. You eat what you cook between courses, and there’s a colour printed cookbook to take home along with coffee or tea throughout the session. Morning classes run cooler than afternoon ones and avoid the 3pm heat in the open kitchen, so it’s the better slot in hot season (March-May). The pace is friendly rather than chef-school intense, so it suits complete beginners as much as confident home cooks. Hotel pickup within Chiang Mai is included; stays further out may cost extra. Lunch and drinks at the farm are effectively your own cooking, which most people find plenty — come hungry.
