Koh Samui’s busiest beaches can feel crowded, and this half-day boat trip heads the other way. It takes you to Pig Island (Koh Madsum) and Koh Tan from the quieter south of Koh Samui, with a snorkelling stop and a buffet lunch on the beach. It suits anyone who would rather take a short speedboat ride than a long crossing. Happy Samui runs the trip, and the group is up to 50 people.

What the day looks like

After hotel pickup in an air-conditioned minivan, you travel to the south of Koh Samui. The land transfer is short, and the speedboat ride that follows crosses calm, shallow water.

  • Pig Island (Koh Madsum), about 60 minutes. A white-sand beach with plenty of pigs. You can play with them and take photos.
  • Snorkelling stop, about 60 minutes. Parrot fish and coral are the draw. Snorkelling equipment and life jackets are provided.
  • Lunch on Koh Tan, about 60 minutes. A buffet lunch at Koh Tan Coral Beach Restaurant, with a beach view and plenty of photo spots.

The whole trip takes 5 to 6 hours including the transfers.
