Private Phi Phi Island Speed Boat Tour from Krabi
Highlights
- Private speedboat tour from Krabi
- Group capped at 12 guests
- Maya Bay and Phi Phi Le stops
- Buffet lunch at Phi Phi Arida
- Snorkelling gear and hotel transfer included
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of your speedboat cutting through turquoise waters as the limestone cliffs of Koh Phi Phi rise from the Andaman Sea. The wind whips through your hair, salt spray kisses your face, and suddenly you’re pulling into the iconic bay where “The Beach” was filmed. But the real magic happens when you slip on your snorkel mask at one of the quieter spots – the underwater world here is rich, with tropical fish darting between coral formations just meters from shore. My favorite moment was floating in the crystal-clear water at Koh Phi Phi Le, watching longtail boats drift silently past towering cliffs that seem to glow golden in the afternoon light.
This private 8-hour tour gives you complete control over your day, which makes all the difference. You’ll typically start with an early pickup from your Krabi hotel, then spend your day island-hopping at your own pace. The itinerary usually includes Hat Maya (Maya Bay), where you can walk the famous beach, plus snorkeling stops at Koh Bi Da Nok and Koh Mai Phai where the coral reefs are healthier and crowds thinner. Since it’s private, you can linger longer at spots you love or skip ahead if you’re ready to move on. Your boat captain doubles as your guide, and most speak decent English while knowing exactly where to find the best snorkeling conditions based on daily weather and tide patterns.
Insider Tip: Book this tour for a Tuesday or Wednesday if possible – Maya Bay sees significantly fewer crowds on weekdays, giving you better photo opportunities and a more peaceful experience.
The $361 starting price reflects the premium of having a private speedboat, but it’s worth it for couples or small groups who want flexibility. This tour works best for confident swimmers since some snorkeling spots have deeper water and mild currents. Weather can shut down operations during monsoon season (roughly May-October), so dry season bookings are most reliable. With a solid 4.8/5 rating from 64 reviews, most people leave happy, though a few mention feeling rushed at Maya Bay due to tour boat traffic.
Safety Tip: Always wear the provided life jackets during snorkeling, even if you’re a strong swimmer – currents around the islands can be unpredictable.

Check in with boat crew at the small booth at Nopparat Thara Pier.
If you stay at Railay Beach, we will pick you up directly from the meeting point at Railay Beach.
The first stop will be at Loh Samah Bay where you can climb from a floating pier over the rocks to an elevated wooden trail which leads to the beach at Maya Bay.
Cruise over to Koh Phi Phi Leh on a comfortable speed boat with a limited number of 45 seats.
Take spectacular photos of the 600 m long Phileh Lagoon framed by 100 m tall limestone cliffs or take an optional ride by a longtail boat to explore small coves at an extra fee.
Snorkel on the east side of Phi Phi Leh on coral reefs with crystal-clear waters and discover the exquisite corals.
Then slowly past Viking Cave to see where the Phi Phi birds nest soup are harvested.
Here you can touch the white sand and dangle your feet into the turquoise water. You will have approximately 50 minutes to enjoy on one of the most stunning locations in Thailand, and if you lucky you can witness black tip reef sharks swimming in the shallows. Notable rules at Maya Bay include no swimming, no single-use plastics, using reef-safe sunscreen and no use of drones without permission. Please remember that the Mu Koh Phi Phi Marine Park will be closed every year for 2 months during low season.
As we cruise onward, get ready to be dazzled by Monkey Beach. This 150-meter gem, nestled on the southwestern shore of Tonsai Bay, boasts powdery white sand lapped by emerald waters. Lush vegetation climbs the cliffs behind the beach, creating a haven for a colony of monkeys. Keep your eyes peeled – at low tide, you might spot them playfully foraging for breakfast right on the shore. While we won't be stopping at the beach itself, this glimpse of paradise is sure to be a highlight.
Free time to explore the island path of Ton Sai which offers average tourist facilities along the beautiful curved bays of Ton Sai and Loh Dalum Bay.
The last stop will be on the tiny and flat island named Koh Pai, which is also known as Bamboo Island. It is covered by lush vegetation and entirely surrounded by a strip of white sand and a reef that spreads up to 500 m from the shore. The uninhabited paradise location 5 km off the northern tip of Koh Phi Phi Don provides its masked and finned visitors with the feeling of swimming in an aquarium.
