The Experience: the boat reaches Maya Bay first, the cove made famous by the film “The Beach,” for about 30 minutes on the sand before continuing to Pileh Cove — known locally as the Emerald Lagoon — which the boat cruises through rather than stopping to swim. A short detour toward Monkey Bay follows, before a two-hour break for a sea-view buffet lunch. The day winds down at Bamboo Island, with an hour to snorkel over the coral reef or sit on the beach.
Tea, coffee, fresh fruit, life jackets, snorkel equipment, insurance, and round-trip hotel transfer by air-conditioned minibus are all included in the price. National park fees — 400 THB per adult, 200 THB per child — are paid at the entry point and aren’t part of the package.
