Rescue P.A.W.S. Day Visit: Dog Rescue Near Hua Hin

Rescue P.A.W.S. is a not-for-profit animal rescue in Pran Buri, south of Hua Hin. It sterilises, treats and rehabilitates stray dogs and cats, and pets from low-income families. This day visit puts you alongside the team for five and a half hours, and the charity says all profits from the trip go back into that work.

The schedule is set. You arrive at the clinic at 10:15 for an introduction and a look round the new purpose-built facility. At 10:30 you head out on countryside walks with the adoptable dogs, along back roads past pineapple fields. Lunch at a local Thai restaurant is at 12:00. At 13:15 you join a feeding run for local community dogs, which the charity calls one of the most rewarding parts of the day. The last half hour, from 15:00, is spent with the cats and puppies back at the clinic, and you leave between 15:30 and 15:45.

There’s no hotel pickup. You meet at the clinic (search “Rescue P.A.W.S. Thailand” on Google Maps), and the team can arrange transport for an extra charge based on the taxi fare. Groups are capped at 10, and you’ll need moderate fitness: most of the day is spent walking outdoors.

Insider Tip: Bring a hat, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. Most of the day is outdoors in the countryside.

Watch out: Some visitors fall for a dog and start adoption paperwork. The team will talk you through what that involves, but don’t sign up on impulse.
