Cape Pakarang

Cape Pakarang (แหลมปะการัง / Laem Pakarang) is the coral-named headland on the northern Khao Lak coast in Phang Nga — north of Bang Niang and the Khuk Khak stretch, before the coast opens toward Bang Sak. At high tide it can look like a rocky shore; at low tide coral flats and rock textures appear across a wider platform.

Sunset is the usual reason to come: the cape pushes into the Andaman with a relatively open western horizon. Bring water, sun protection, and shoes you do not mind scuffing on coral. Do not collect coral or shells. The access road ends near parking at the cape — follow Highway 4 north from Bang Niang / Khuk Khak and turn west at the Laem Pakarang signs.

Watch out: Sharp coral underfoot and slippery rock when wet. Swim only if conditions and your footwear/skill make sense — this is not the same gentle sand experience as Nang Thong.
