Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park

Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park has one of the most highest mountain in Thailand it is Doi Pha Hom Pok. This mountain is 2,285 m. from the middle sea level. It a number 2 higher mountain in Thailand that only Doi Inthanon can surpass its high. At top of the mountain is a granite plain that surround by cloud and has a rough wind blow over so this place is basically in cold temperature all the year. Doi Pha Hom Pok contain a lot of plant and creature especially orchid and bird. Orchid that grown around this area is a rare orchid that hard to found in another place and also this mountain has a lot of bird in various specie include migratory bird that travel to this mountain every years in winter season the example of bird that you can find around the mountain is Purple Cochoa, Brown-breasted Bulbul, Red-throated Trush, Grey-winged Blackbird, and Chestnut Thrush. Aside from bird there a lot of butterfly too such as Kaiser I Hind; Teinopalpus imperatrix that can only found in this place, Blue peacock and Brown gorgon. According to Chiang Mai Travel guide there a lot of interesting place around Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park. Doi Pha Hom Pok Hot springs is one of the best feature in this national park there are hot springs all around this place such as Fang hot spring. The mountain top of Doi Pha Hom Pok is the best view point to begin with you can see the sun rise and the sun set in one place. However the mountain top are not allow to be a resting or stay at night so tourist have to walk 3.5 km. from camp site to the mountain top. Waterfall aside from hot spring there a lot of natural spring on the higher ground of this mountain so there a lot of waterfall in this area too such as Pong Nam Dung Waterfall, Tard Luang Waterfall and Na Ma Urn Waterfall. Cave there are some cave to pay a visit in this area such as Huai Born Cave.
