Hua Hin Night Market sets up along Dechanuchit Road every evening from around 18:00 to 23:00, running seafood grills, pad thai woks, and souvenir stalls the length of the street. It’s one of the more walkable, tourist-friendly night markets on the Hua Hin coast, and unlike some markets elsewhere in Thailand it operates daily rather than on set weekend nights.

Food stalls fill most of the street: grilled prawns and squid laid out on ice, woks of pad thai cooked to order, and pots of tom yum simmering behind the counter. Between them are stalls selling clothing, wooden handicrafts, and soap, plus the usual mango sticky rice and grilled corn carts. The mix of smells — chargrilled seafood, frying garlic, sweet coconut — is the market’s real signature more than any single dish.

Insider Tip: Go before 19:00 if you want table space at the seating areas tucked between stalls — by 20:00 on a Friday or Saturday most of them fill up, and you’ll end up eating standing at a cart instead.

Compared with Bangkok’s big weekend markets, this one is smaller and easier to navigate — a single main strip rather than a maze of sois, so it’s manageable solo or with kids in tow. Vendors are used to foreign visitors and most speak enough English for basic transactions.

Watch out: Prices for the same dish can vary noticeably between stalls, so it’s worth a slow first pass before committing to buy. The busiest stretch, closest to Phetkasem Road, tends to charge slightly more than stalls further down toward the railway line.

Bring small-denomination cash — many stalls don’t take cards — and comfortable shoes, since covering the full strip means a fair amount of walking. If you want a calmer, sit-down alternative nearby, Chatchai Market runs earlier in the day and has a more local, less touristed feel, while Cicada Market is a weekend-only arts-and-crafts market with a different atmosphere entirely — worth knowing about so you don’t confuse the two when planning an evening out.

Parking near Dechanuchit Road gets tight once the stalls are up, so arriving on foot or by tuk-tuk from your hotel is usually easier than driving in. The market draws a genuine mix of Thai families, retirees, and visiting tourists rather than being an exclusively tourist-facing setup, which shows in the pricing — it stays close to what locals actually pay rather than a marked-up “farang rate.”
