Book by naming the loop. The Old Course is the full 18-hole product; the Country Club Course is the shorter water-heavy nine when time is tight or you want a warm-up loop. Golf directories often call Phuket Country Club the island’s first full course, useful heritage context, not a quality ranking by itself.

Signature-hole chatter usually focuses on a long lakeside par 5 on the Old Course (frequently labelled hole 10 in marketing, with aggressive lines over water). Treat yardage figures and “go for it” stories as colour until the starter confirms your tee sheet and daily pin positions.

Facilities commonly listed include a large driving range (operator materials have cited dozens of bays), pro shop, Thai and international dining, and a full clubhouse. Ask which restaurant sections are open on your day rather than assuming a full à la carte card at every hour.

Fees, hours, and monsoon reality

Carry water and sun protection even for a “short” nine. Kathu sits inland with less sea breeze than Bang Tao or Kata, and mid-morning heat builds fast from March through May. If you only have half a day, the Country Club nine is the honest time-box; do not force 18 holes and a Patong dinner into the same rushed window.

Insider Tip: Inland Kathu can feel hotter and less breezy than west-coast beach clubs. Early tees still win in hot season. Keep a monsoon backup plan (Old Town food, a spa block, or a museum morning) if the radar lights up.
