Pong Yaeng Jungle Coaster & Zipline — also marketed as Pongyang Adventure Park — sits in the forested hills of Mae Rim district, around 30 km north of Chiang Mai along the Mae Rim–Samoeng road. The park runs several self-contained adventure activities in one mountain setting, which makes it a straightforward half- or full-day trip from the city.

The headline draw is billed as Thailand’s first mountain coaster. Riders board a two-person gravity-driven cart on a steel rail track that winds roughly 1.2 km through the tree canopy, dropping around 80 metres in elevation at speeds of up to 40 km/h. A hand-brake lever lets each rider set their own pace, so the ride works for cautious first-timers and for those who prefer full speed all the way down.

The zipline course is the park’s other centrepiece, with up to 36 platforms spread across the forest. Package tiers decide how many stations you tackle — entry-level options cover around 12 platforms, while the full course takes in 34. Suspension bridges connect the sections, and guides are stationed throughout to check harnesses at each point.

Beyond the two signature experiences, the park offers a jungle swing and a quick jump — a tree-top freefall of around 15 metres — plus a jungle bike cable ride. An on-site café, Jungle De Cafe, serves meals and coffee between activities.

Packages bundle activities with a buffet meal, water and a souvenir T-shirt; prices are approximate and change seasonally, so check current listings before booking. Hotel pick-up from central Chiang Mai is available for groups of two or more, and the park opens daily from 08:00 to 17:00, year-round.
