Rangsit Science Centres for Education
ศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อการศึกษารังสิต
Rangsit Science Centre for Education is a hands-on science museum in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, with 15 interactive galleries across three floors plus a planetarium. Entry to the main exhibits is free; the planetarium dome charges a small separate fee. It’s run by Thailand’s Department of Non-Formal Education, aimed at school groups on weekdays and families on weekends.
The galleries cover physics, chemistry, biology and technology through exhibits you operate yourself rather than watch — pedal-powered generators, simple chemistry demonstrations, microscope stations, and robotics displays. Outside, a science garden, herb garden and sundial garden extend the exhibits into the grounds. The planetarium dome is 19.5 metres across with 160 seats and runs scheduled astronomy shows for a small extra fee; seats fill up on weekends, so turn up early if you want a spot.
Insider Tip: National Science Museum (NSM) Technopolis sits a short distance away in the same Khlong Luang cluster and is a much bigger day out. If you’ve got time for both, do the smaller Rangsit centre first — it’s a quicker, more focused visit and pairs well with the National Geological Museum next door.
The centre runs Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00–16:00, and closes Mondays and public holidays. Bring comfortable shoes for the three floors and a light layer — the galleries are air-conditioned. It’s a solid rainy-day option or a break from Bangkok’s temple circuit, roughly 40 minutes north of the city by car depending on traffic.
