S2O Songkran Music Festival takes the traditional Songkran water fight and adds a massive sound system, international DJs, and industrial-scale water cannons. Running since 2015, it has become Southeast Asia’s biggest water-music festival, drawing over 30,000 attendees across three days at Live Park Rama 9 in central Bangkok. The 2026 edition runs April 13-15, coinciding with the official Songkran holiday.
The format is straightforward: a large outdoor venue with a main stage, multiple bars, food vendors, and an enormous volume of water. Cannons mounted above the crowd blast water constantly, DJs play from behind waterproof setups, and the audience dances in ankle-deep water from afternoon until midnight. Past headliners have included Martin Garrix, Alesso, DJ Snake, and Afrojack alongside top Thai DJs. The production values are high — think Tomorrowland-level staging with the added element of everyone being permanently soaked.
S2O distinguishes itself from the free street water fights by being a controlled, ticketed environment with security, proper sound, and an organised lineup. The crowd skews young (20s-30s), international, and party-focused. VIP areas offer elevated platforms, dedicated bars, and slightly less water bombardment. The festival also runs satellite events in Japan and other Asian cities, but Bangkok is the original and largest.
Tickets go on sale several months ahead and are typically priced at 2,500-3,500 THB for general admission per day, with three-day passes and VIP options running significantly higher.
