ATV Ride and Lampi Waterfall

Lampi is the largest waterfall in the Phang Nga area, tucked inside Lampi Waterfall National Park about 40 minutes from Khao Lak, and this four-hour trip pairs it with an hour on a quad bike through the jungle and rubber plantations nearby. Hotel pickup from Khao Lak resorts is built in, and both morning (from 7:50am) and afternoon (from 1pm) slots are available.

The ATV leg runs first — a safety briefing, helmet and gear handed out, then a guided hour on forest trails with a local instructor leading the group. It’s dirty, fun, and not technical; automatic quads, no experience needed. After the ride the team serves fruit and drinks before you swap to the vehicle for the short transfer to Lampi itself. The waterfall tiers through jungle with pools at each level for swimming, and the hour or so at the site is enough to cool off after the dusty ride before the run back to the hotel. The flow at Lampi is best in and just after the wet season (June-December); dry months see a thinner cascade.

Four hours is a neat morning or afternoon block without committing to a full day out. Light refreshments, bottled water, and coffee or tea are included. Serious damage to the ATV isn’t covered by the base insurance, so stick to the guide’s line and don’t try stunt moves. Bring a change of clothes for the waterfall swim, closed shoes for the ride, a bandana or buff if you’re dust-sensitive, and any mosquito repellent you want to use. The afternoon slot avoids early mornings but runs hotter; morning is easier on families with young kids.
