Full-Day Phi Phi Islands Tour with Lunch from Krabi
Availability checked
Phi Phi’s magic depends on timing. Maya Bay at 11am holds half of Phuket and Krabi on its sand; Maya Bay at 8am is closer to what the postcards sell. This seven-hour speedboat day from Krabi leaves early specifically to land at Maya before the mass-tourism wave arrives, then works its way through the wider Phi Phi island group with snorkel stops and a Thai buffet lunch on a quieter beach.
Free meeting is at Nopparat Thara Pier at 7:55am for Grand Centara Resort guests; transfers from Railay, Krabi Town, Klong Muang and Tub Kaek are available at extra cost (850 to 1,300 baht per group of up to three). The boat heads out to Maya Bay, then across to the towering limestone karsts and hidden bays of Koh Phi Phi, with two snorkel stops at reefs where a certified guide runs a briefing on snorkelling technique and fish identification. Lunch is a Thai buffet served on a quiet beach (vegetarian available with notice). National park fees, life jackets, fresh fruit, snorkelling gear and insurance are all included.
Groups go up to 15 and the difficulty is moderate mostly because of the open-water boat transfers and in-and-out of the sea. Kids old enough to swim usually handle it fine.
The early start is the tour. Committing to an 8am arrival at Maya Bay means a 6:30 or 7am meeting and less sleep than your Krabi holiday probably warrants, but the trade-off is seeing Maya Bay close to empty, which is rare and worth the alarm. Dry season (November to April) gives the clearest water. Reef-safe sunscreen, a rash guard and a waterproof phone pouch are the three things to pack. Note that Maya Bay closes annually in parts of August and September for ecosystem recovery, and the itinerary substitutes a nearby alternative during those periods.
