The day runs long — 9 to 10 hours door to door — because the itinerary covers six stops rather than a straight run to James Bond Island. After roughly 90 minutes by van to the pier, the schedule takes in Wat Tham Sawan Kuha, a temple cave complex near Phang Nga town, then an hour and a half through Ao Phang Nga National Park’s limestone karst islands, an hour of sea-cave canoeing with a professional paddler at Talu Island, ninety minutes at Koh Tapu itself — the limestone pillar known for its cameo in The Man with the Golden Gun — and lunch at Koh Panyee, a Muslim fishing village built on stilts. The boat departs Kasom pier around 15:40, landing back in Phuket around 18:00.

Canoeing gear, including a life jacket, and a professional paddler are part of the package, along with lunch, an English-speaking guide, and insurance. Round-trip transfer is included only within Patong, Kata and Karon; travelers staying elsewhere in Phuket should check pickup coverage before booking, since the tour departs from and returns to those Phuket-side zones despite spending the day in Phang Nga province. Meeting point is Starbucks inside Jungceylon Patong, in the basement zone A1 unit.

Group size is capped at nine, smaller than many multi-stop longtail tours in the region, and the price excludes personal expenses and tips. Infants must sit on an adult’s lap rather than have a separate seat, and the trip isn’t recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiovascular conditions, or during pregnancy.

At 4.5 stars, the rating rests on just 13 reviews — a thin sample worth weighing against the day’s length and price before booking.

Key Facts:
  • Duration: 9-10 hours
  • Price from: $79 per person
  • Rating: 4.5 (13 reviews — small sample)
  • Group size: Max 9 people
  • Includes: Lunch, canoeing, guide, insurance, transfer (Patong/Kata/Karon)
  • Meeting point: Starbucks, Jungceylon Patong

Insider Tip: The published rating is based on a small review count (13), so it’s worth cross-checking recent traveler feedback directly on the booking page before committing to a 9-10 hour day.

ham Sawan Kuha Temple, known to locals as Wat Tham (the “temple cave”), resides in a complex of caves near the town of Phang Nga, the capital of Phang Nga Province. It serves as a functioning and revered place of worship for local Buddhists and also as a tourist destination. The largest of the four-cave system, the subterranean Tham Yai, holds a number of standing and sitting Buddha figures and ceramic figures of spiritual significance.

Amazing natural sea caves canoeing at Talu island. Koh Thalu is a small island in Bang Saphan Noi District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, approximately 7 kilometres from the coast at Ban Nong Samet. It takes around 30 minutes by normal boat to the island but only around 15 minutes by speed boat. The area of Koh Thalu covers 1,000 Rai.
