Villa Sanoh is a five-bedroom private pool villa at the highest point of the Samujana estate, above Choeng Mon on Koh Samui. It sleeps 10, with a cinema room, a private gym and a rooftop barbecue deck. The airport is 4 km away and Choeng Mon Beach 900 m.
The top of the hill, with a cinema downstairs
The sleeping floor and the entertainment floor are the same level. All five king bedrooms open to terraces and have en-suite bathrooms, and the cinema room, the fitness area and a lounge are beside them. The master is the only room with a bathtub. Living room, dining area for 10 and the kitchen are one floor up.
Outside, the infinity pool has loungers and parasols, and there is a patio, a garden, a covered terrace and a barbecue, with a second barbecue deck on the roof. A Nuvo sound system runs through the house, and backup generators are fitted.
Each morning breakfast is brought to the villa, and the manager will arrange boat trips, nannies or cooking classes. A private chef costs extra.
Insider Tip: The garden is on a steep gradient and the villa is the highest on the estate, so ask the manager to book the free shuttle for beach and Central Festival trips rather than walking back up with bags or children.
Who it suits
- Highest position on the estate, with panoramic views
- Cinema room and gym without leaving the house
- Five king bedrooms, all on one floor
- Rooftop barbecue deck for dinners
- Steep garden and a hilltop position make it a poor choice for limited mobility
- Only the master bedroom has a bathtub
- Staff leave at 5pm unless you dine in
Groups of friends and multi-generation families who can manage steps will get the most out of it. Villa Sunstra also sleeps 10 and has a bar area, while Villa Sopa is a smaller four-bedroom house. In the area, Wat Plai Laem and the Big Buddha are short drives, and Choeng Mon has the beach. For more, see our Koh Samui guide.
