The Chill Resort & Spa sits directly on Kai Bae Beach, Koh Chang’s busiest strip for restaurants and sunset bars. The sand here narrows and turns stony at low tide, so the long infinity-edge pool is the better bet for an all-day swim — several of the upper villas add their own private plunge pool on top of that.

Rooms

Five room and villa types run from the 50 sqm Chill Deluxe on the second floor to the 190 sqm Beach Front Pool Villa. The ground-floor Splash Pool Access room is also 50 sqm and the easier choice if stairs are a problem — there’s no lift anywhere on site. The 100 sqm Sky Jacuzzi Suite has its own separate living area, and both pool villas connect straight to a private plunge pool as well as the main pool. Ask about extra-bed rates if you need either of the two smaller rooms to sleep more than two.

The Chill Spa runs private treatment rooms with massage, facial and body treatments plus a steam room and Jacuzzi. Add a fitness room, restaurant and bars, all-day breakfast, kayaks, free bicycles and a cooking class, and there’s little reason to leave the grounds. Pets are welcome, with conditions — check the details when booking. Rooms come with a fridge or minibar and kettle rather than a kitchen, so plan meals around the restaurant or the walk into Kai Bae.

Insider Tip: Book the ground-floor Splash Pool Access room if stairs are an issue, and double-check its bathroom layout before you pay — the villas above it are both two storeys.

Getting Here

Kai Bae’s restaurants and cafes are a short walk from the gate. Getting to the resort itself means the Ao Thammachat to Ao Sapparot ferry crossing followed by a road transfer — budget extra time if the crossing is busy.

The resort suits couples or travellers who value the pool, spa and walkable Kai Bae dining. If you’re picturing a broad golden-sand beach or step-free access across every room type, look closer at the room list first.

Pros
  • Five room and villa types, 50-190 sqm

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is The Chill Resort from the main pier on Koh Chang?
Road transport connects Ao Sapparot pier to Kai Bae after the ferry crossing from the mainland. Journey time depends on traffic and how many stops the transfer makes along the way.
Is the beach suitable for swimming all day?
The resort has a small private waterfront strip, but stones and tides can affect beach use. The long main pool is the more dependable water facility.
Are restaurants within walking distance?
Yes. Restaurants and cafes on and near the Kai Bae main road are a short walk away, although they are not all positioned on the beachfront.
Is The Chill accessible without stairs?
There is no lift and upper rooms use stairs. The ground-floor Splash Pool Access category is listed as wheelchair accessible, but confirm the exact room and bathroom before booking.
