Ban Krachut Beach
หาดบ้านกระจูด
Ban Krachut Beach (หาดบ้านกระจูด) lies on the Gulf of Thailand coast of Sai Buri District, roughly 50 kilometres east of Pattani town. It is one of the quieter stretches of sand in the deep south — a working fishing community rather than a tourist destination, which is precisely what draws those who seek it out. Colourful longtail boats are pulled up along the shoreline, and the beach is backed by casuarina trees and coconut palms typical of the Gulf coast.
The area sits within the Taluban subdistrict and reflects the Malay Muslim character of coastal Pattani — fishing remains the primary livelihood, and the pace of life on the beach follows the rhythms of the tides rather than a visitor schedule. There are no resort facilities, no souvenir stalls, and little commercial infrastructure, which keeps the atmosphere genuinely local.
Entry is free. Visitors should be aware that Pattani province has historically had travel advisories in effect from several governments; check current FCO, State Department, or DFAT guidance before planning a trip to the deep south. Independent travel is possible with a rented motorbike from Sai Buri town, which is the most practical way to reach the beach given limited public transport connections.
