Khung Wiman Beach curves for about 1.5 km along Chanthaburi’s Gulf of Thailand coast, roughly 15 km from Chanthaburi town in Na Yai Am district. The water toward the northern and middle stretch is calm and clear enough for swimming; the rockier ends to the north and south are used more for fishing than for wading in.

The beach sits directly on the Chalerm Burapha Chonlatit road, a scenic coastal route that runs along this stretch of the Gulf coast from Rayong through Chanthaburi toward Trat. Fine sand and a scattering of shells line the swimmable middle section, backed by shade trees along the road; the accommodation options here are limited compared to nearby Chao Lao Beach, so it tends to draw a smaller, more local crowd than its better-known neighbour. Just south of the beach, the road climbs to Noen Nang Phaya viewpoint, where you can look back down over the curve of sand and a small offshore island.

Insider Tip: Time a visit for sunrise or sunset — the road along Khung Wiman is built for slow driving and cycling, with a marked red-painted cycle lane on the shoulder, and the light off the water is best at either end of the day.

Because the beach sits on a through-road rather than a resort strip, it works well as a stop on a longer drive rather than a full-day base — pair it with Chalerm Burapha Chonlatit Road itself if you’re exploring the wider coastal route, or with Khung Kraben Bay a little further south. Weekdays are notably quieter than weekends, when day-trippers from Chanthaburi town arrive.

Watch out: The rocky sections at each end of the beach are not shielded — currents and footing around the rocks can be trickier than the calm middle stretch, so keep swimming to the sandy central area.

There’s no entry fee. Bring your own shade and water, since facilities are limited to a scattering of small restaurants and guesthouses rather than a developed beachfront strip, and check conditions before swimming during the June-October rainy season when the Gulf coast sees more wind and swell.
