Namtok Chet Sao Noi National Park protects the Muak Lek waterfall corridor across parts of Saraburi and Nakhon Ratchasima. Its visitor entrance is at Moo 9, Ban Kaeng Lu, Muak Lek, Saraburi 18180. The main draw is the seven-step Namtok Chet Sao Noi waterfall with shallow pools, low rock shelves and easy access from the park entrance.

The park covers Muak Lek and Wang Muang districts in Saraburi and Pak Chong district in Nakhon Ratchasima. The waterfall itself is not a high cliff: each tier is roughly 4 metres, with broad swimming areas where local families cool off. Level 4 is the section most often singled out for photos, while the lower levels are easier for a quick swim.

Entry is not free: foreign adults pay 100 THB and Thai adults pay 20 THB, with lower child rates. The park opens daily 08:00-17:00. November to April is usually the easier swimming window because the water is clearer and less forceful; rainy-season visits have stronger flow but slippery rock and faster currents.

The drive from Bangkok usually takes around three hours, depending on traffic and where you start. Bring swimwear, a dry bag and footwear with grip. If you are building a Saraburi waterfall day, combine the park with Hew Noi Waterfall or Khao Sam Lan National Park rather than treating it as part of Khao Yai National Park.

The park was gazetted as Thailand’s 129th national park in 2016, so older articles may still describe the waterfall as a free local swimming spot. That is stale. Use the national-park fee and opening hours when planning, and carry cash in case the ticket booth or nearby vendors do not take cards.

Key Facts:
  • Park name: Namtok Chet Sao Noi National Park
  • Thai name: อุทยานแห่งชาติน้ำตกเจ็ดสาวน้อย
  • Entry fee: 100 THB foreign adult / 20 THB Thai adult
  • Hours: Daily 08:00-17:00
  • Main waterfall: Namtok Chet Sao Noi / น้ำตกเจ็ดสาวน้อย

Insider Tip: Arrive before lunch if you want a calmer swim. The easy access makes this a family day-trip spot, so the lower pools and picnic areas fill fastest on weekends and school holidays.

Watch out: Do not treat the whole park as interchangeable with nearby Khao Yai. Khao Yai has its own gates, fees, routes and wildlife rules; Chet Sao Noi is a separate national park on the Muak Lek side of Saraburi.

For route planning, use the Muak Lek approach rather than aiming for Khao Yai’s main visitor centre. The roads and ticket gates are different, and mixing them up can add a long detour to a simple waterfall stop.
