Phukaew Adventure Park

Phukaew Adventure Park sits on the grounds of Phukaew Resort on the Khao Kho ridge in Phetchabun. There’s no single gate fee here — it runs on a pay-per-ride model, with individual activities priced from around 50 THB for kids’ rides up to roughly 250 THB for the Rope Challenge. The park opens daily from 08:30 to 17:30.

The activity list covers Rope Challenge, Tower Jump, Giant Swing, Vertical Swing, Spider Swing, and Super Slider, plus a rock-climbing wall — most aimed at teens and adults with posted height and weight limits. Younger children get their own set of gentler rides: Air Ball, Canoe Paddle, Kids Canopy, Baby Racing (ages 3-6), and Mini Bike. Canyon Rafting has been listed as temporarily out of service, so check current status before building a visit around it specifically. Staff run each station with its own queue and payment, so groups mixing ages tend to split up and regroup rather than move through as one unit.

Watch out: Because pricing is per activity rather than a single wristband, a family doing several rides each can add up quickly — decide your must-dos before arriving rather than paying station by station on the day.

Khao Kho’s elevation gives it a noticeably cooler climate than the Phetchabun lowlands, which is most of the area’s appeal beyond the rides themselves — mornings especially carry a hill-station chill that burns off by midday. The rope and swing activities involve real height and some queuing at busier times, so this suits visitors comfortable with adrenaline activities rather than a passive sightseeing stop.

Insider Tip: Go early. The cooler morning air makes the climbing and rope activities more comfortable, and you’ll beat both the heat and the queues that build up by early afternoon on weekends.

Khao Kho sits about 400 km north of Bangkok, roughly a 5-6 hour drive depending on traffic out of the capital — this is a mountain-resort day trip built around an overnight stay nearby, not a Bangkok day trip. Phetchabun town, the nearer base, is about 48 km (45 minutes) south. Closed-toe shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting dusty are worth packing; the park supplies safety gear for each activity but not general footwear. Pair a visit with the Khao Kho Royal Palace or Khao Kho National Park nearby to fill out a full day on the mountain.
