The 3-hour route starts in Samphanthawong, the district that’s been Bangkok’s Chinese community since the city’s early days, with 45 minutes working through street-food stalls, shophouse tables and market vendors. A 15-minute stop at Odeon Circle (the roundabout nicknamed “Dragon Head” for marking the start of Yaowarat, or “Dragon Road”) covers a gate erected in 1999 to commemorate the King’s sixth-cycle birthday, opened by Princess Sirindhorn that December. The remaining two hours run along Yaowarat Road itself, home to several Michelin-recognised street stalls, tasting Thai curry, chicken satay and noodles along the way.
The guide keeps the group small, a maximum of 10 on each departure, and covers bottled water and a running commentary on the food and the neighbourhood’s history throughout. Dessert is mango sticky rice or coconut ice cream, and dietary swaps can be flagged with the guide on the day. Alcohol isn’t part of the tastings, and there’s no hotel pickup on this shared departure. That’s only available on the private version. Meeting point is MRT Wat Mangkon, Exit 1 on the Blue Line (BL29), in the middle of Bangkok’s Chinatown business district on Charoen Krung Road near Plaeng Nam Intersection, a short walk from Wat Mangkon Kamalawat.

The area of Samphanthawong is one of Bangkok's hidden gem of many Street food venders , the area connecting to Chinatown, has been a Chinese community since the early days of Bangkok. there are many choice of food variety, cultures and local life.
Odeon Roundabout
The tour stops for a photo at Odeon Circle, dubbed "Dragon Head" because it marks the beginning of Yaowarat, which is called "Dragon Road". Odeon Circle or Wongwian Odeon is the intersection of Yaowarat, Charoen Krung, and Tri Mit or Mittaphap Thai-China roads The circle gained its name from a movie theater in the area, which was demolished in the late 1980s. The roundabout's center originally had a fountain, until it was replaced by the Chinese gate in 1999. The top of the gate is inscribed in both Thai and Chinese letters on both sides, which means that "Gate of Commemorates the 6th Cycle Anniversary of HM the King's Birthday". The gate was officially opened on 5 December 1999 by Princess Sirindhorn presiding over the ceremony.
