The Mingalaba road trip is a one-day circuit of Koh Phangan by 4WD, with an English-speaking driver and guide. Over about seven hours it takes in two beaches, a waterfall and a snorkelling stop, so it suits visitors who want to see several parts of the island in one day with someone else driving.
What the day looks like
The trip includes hotel or port pickup and dropoff. The first stop is Thong Nai Pan Yai beach, about 45 minutes on a wide stretch of white sand for photos and sunbathing. Next is Than Sadet Waterfall National Park, also about 45 minutes. King Rama V first visited in 1888 and left an inscription on a rock that is still there, and he returned about 14 times.
Haad Yao follows, with an hour on its 1.5 km beach. The name means “long beach”, and the sand is wide enough to play football on. After that comes Koh Ma, an island in the north of Koh Phangan with a peaceful beach and a sandbar. You get an hour of snorkelling over coral and sea life, and a snorkel mask is included.
The day ends with an hour at a sunset bar with a panoramic viewpoint. If you prefer, you can ask about Amsterdam Bar or the 420 Club viewpoint for sunset as a special option.

Than Sadet Waterfall National Park

Haad Yao Beach
Haad Yao is a white sand beach in the north-west of Koh Phangan. The beach is 1.5 km long, which is why it is called Haad Yao, or "Long beach". It is wide enough to play football and has all the ingredients for a beach holiday.
