Reverie Siam Resort

Reverie Siam Resort is a small boutique resort on the Pai River in the Wiang Tai area of Pai, Mae Hong Son. It has fewer than 20 rooms and villas, two salt-water pools, a Mediterranean and Thai restaurant, and nightly live music in its library. Wiang Tai is a short ride out of town rather than on the walking street, which suits people who want quiet nights.

Rooms are about 50 sq m and share a vintage-study look: writing desks, rain showers, minibars and safes. The differences are in the view and the access.

The infinity pool and the stone pool both use salt water. Silhouette Bar & Restaurant serves Mediterranean and Thai dishes plus tapas, and you can eat in the air-conditioned room, on the garden terrace or in the library. Breakfast covers full English/Irish, vegetarian and vegan plates. Gardens with parasols and gazebos run down to the river. There is free parking, a hot tub, 24-hour reception and laundry.

Location and getting there

The resort is in Wiang Tai, along the river, and Pai Airport is 2.8 km away as the resort gives it. Chiang Mai is the usual gateway: the road to Pai is the famous 762-curve drive, so read our Pai guide before choosing a transfer. The resort lists a shuttle running about 08:00 to 22:00. Pai’s evening scene is at Pai Walking Street, a short taxi or scooter ride away, and Pai Canyon is the usual sunset stop. Check-in runs 14:00 to 22:00 and check-out 07:30 to 12:00.

It suits couples and small groups who want a quiet base with a proper pool, a good dinner on site and live jazz or folk after dark.
