Villa Pitigliano is a three-bedroom villa on the Kerem estate at Plai Laem, the north-east corner of Koh Samui: one of four glass houses designed by Gary Fell on a hillside above a private beach. It sleeps six, or eight with a sofa bed, and the airport is 8 km away.
Split levels and a 9-metre pool
The master suite takes the whole lower level, with its own terrace and a sofa bed for two more guests. Upstairs, two queen bedrooms open onto a shared balcony looking over the Gulf. Each room has its own bathroom. The living space is open-plan and glass-fronted, and the kitchen has a five-burner hob, dishwasher, oven and a wine fridge that comes stocked. A table for eight sits by the windows.
The L-shaped pool is 9 metres long, with a shallow end that slopes gently and a bench fitted with jacuzzi jets. Teak sunbeds line the terrace. Stairs lead down to a lawn and a small private beach of sand and rock.
Breakfast is delivered every morning, Western or Thai, and transfers, daily cleaning, turndown, coffee and fruit are part of the rental.
Insider Tip: Pitigliano and Villa Poppi are twins, with the same rooms, pool and services. When one shows no availability for your dates, the other often will.
Who it suits
- Master suite on its own floor
- Airport transfers and daily breakfast included
- Private beach with kayaks and paddleboards
- 8 km from the airport
- Smaller pool than the estate’s bigger villas
- Steps down to the beach, and many levels throughout
- Grounds and gym shared with three other villas
A family of five or six, or three couples, will find it a good fit. Bigger groups should look at Villa Anghiari on the same estate. Choeng Mon is the closest beach town, Wat Plai Laem is just inland, and Fisherman’s Village is 8 km west. See our Koh Samui guide for the rest of the island.
