Bang Niang Beach

Bang Niang Beach (หาดบางเนียง) is one of the main resort beaches on the Khao Lak coast in Phang Nga — golden-brown sand, a developed but still low-key village behind it, and easy day access from the central strip. It sits in Bang Niang village, between Nang Thong Beach to the south and the quieter Khuk Khak stretch toward Cape Pakarang to the north.

Infrastructure concentrates along Bang Niang Beach Road: cafés, 7-Elevens on the highway, and beachfront restaurants once you reach the sand. Public access points exist between hotel frontages; shade and parking are limited at peak times. Pair a beach morning with the inland Police Boat 813 memorial a few minutes away — same village, different mood.

Watch out: Monsoon months can bring rough water and limited swim days. Some hotel frontages feel private; use signed public paths rather than cutting through guest-only pools.

Insider Tip: Late afternoon on the sand, then a short ride inland to the 813 park before closing — you get sunset light without making the memorial a separate half-day.
