Namtok Ron Khlong Thom
น้ำตกร้อนคลองท่อม
Namtok Ron Khlong Thom is a small hot-spring cascade in Krabi’s Khlong Thom district, where mineral water surfaces at around 35-42°C and drops through a series of low limestone tiers into shallow soaking pools. It’s run by the Khlong Thom Nuea Subdistrict Administrative Organization rather than the national park system, so it operates on its own fee schedule and hours — daily, roughly 08:30 to 18:00.
The falls themselves are modest by Thailand’s standards — a few metres of drop across three short tiers rather than a dramatic plunge — and that’s the point. The pools below each tier hold warm water you can sit in, cooler near the bottom and hotter as you move upstream toward the source, so you can pick your own temperature by moving between them. A short forest path connects the car park to the pools; some visitors describe a golf-cart or tram shuttle operating on busier days, though don’t count on it being available every visit.
Insider Tip: Go in the late afternoon rather than midday. The tour groups that pair this stop with the Emerald Pool tend to arrive around lunchtime, and the pools are noticeably quieter — and the light through the canopy better for photos — after 3pm.
Watch out: Published entrance fees for this site have shifted more than once in recent years and different sources currently quote different numbers, so treat any fee you read online (including this page) as approximate and confirm the current rate at the gate.
Namtok Ron Khlong Thom is often visited alongside Sa Morakot (Emerald Pool), a separate warm-spring swimming pool a few kilometres away inside Khao Phra-Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary — the two are frequently sold as a combined day-tour ticket but are run by different authorities, so don’t assume one ticket covers both.
- Water temperature: Roughly 35-42°C at the source, cooling through the lower pools
- Hours: Daily, approximately 08:30-18:00
- Managed by: Khlong Thom Nuea Subdistrict Administrative Organization (not a national park)
- Nearby: A few kilometres from the separately run Emerald Pool
The site sits in Krabi province’s inland Khlong Thom district, about 70 km from Krabi Town — most visitors arrive by rented car, motorbike, or as part of an organised tour that also stops at Wat Khlong Thom Museum nearby. Bring water shoes for the uneven pool floor, drinking water, and a towel, since the warm soak is dehydrating in Krabi’s heat.
