Pha Sut Phaen Din Viewpoint

Pha Sut Phaen Din is a cliff-edge viewpoint inside Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Chaiyaphum’s Thep Sathit district, reached by the park’s own tram rather than a direct road. At 846 metres it’s the highest point in the Phang Hoei range, and the park’s standard entrance fee applies here — 200 THB for foreign adults, 40 THB for Thai adults — this is not a free, standalone attraction.

The name means roughly “end of land,” describing how sharply the cliff drops toward the Sonthi River valley below, with the Sap Langka Wildlife Sanctuary spreading out beyond it. On a clear day the vantage point is sold locally as a three-province view — Chaiyaphum, Phetchabun, and Lopburi all visible from the same spot — and the ridge itself marks the watershed between rivers flowing to the Chao Phraya and those flowing toward the Mekong. During the rainy season, valley fog below the cliff can build into a “sea of mist” at dawn, similar to the more famous mist viewpoints further north in Phetchabun.

Insider Tip: Go early. The park tram queues build through the morning in peak season, and the mist effect (when it happens) burns off within an hour or two of sunrise.

Getting there means visiting Pa Hin Ngam National Park first — there’s no separate entrance or car park for Sut Phaendin itself. From the main gate, a tram (roughly 30 THB per person) carries visitors out to the viewpoint; a short walk from there connects to the park’s other main feature, the wind-carved sandstone field at Lan Hin Ngam.

Watch out: This is a single feature inside a much larger park.
