Tingly Thai Cooking School’s evening class runs 6pm to 9pm at the same Bangrak kitchen as its afternoon and morning sessions, on Soi Phrachom off Surawong Road, a short walk from Silom Soi 22. Groups go up to 12, and the class doubles as dinner: what you cook is what you eat, with English and Thai-speaking instructors talking through each dish.

The curry changes with the day of the week: green on Monday and Friday, red on Tuesday and Saturday, panaeng on Wednesday and Sunday, mussaman on Thursday. Tom yum goong and pad thai with prawns round out the savoury side, and mango with sticky rice finishes it. Bottled water, kitchen equipment, a printed recipe and a vegetarian option are all part of the booking. Alcoholic drinks are the one thing you’d need to bring or buy separately.

Insider Tip: book a Thursday if mussaman is the curry you want. It’s the only day it’s on the rotation.

Watch out: this class doesn’t include a market visit. For that, book the morning class instead, same kitchen, same dish list, plus a stop at a fresh market beforehand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's cooked in the evening class?
Tom yum goong, pad thai with prawns, a curry that changes by day (green Monday/Friday, red Tuesday/Saturday, panaeng Wednesday/Sunday, mussaman Thursday), and mango with sticky rice. What you cook, you eat as dinner.
Is there a vegetarian option?
Yes, the school lists vegetarian options for this session specifically, unlike its other two classes. Mention it when booking.
How does this differ from the afternoon or morning class?
It runs later (6pm-9pm instead of 1pm-5pm) with a bigger group cap (12 instead of 10), and it's billed as dinner rather than a standalone meal. The morning class adds a market visit that neither the afternoon nor evening session includes.
Are drinks included?
Bottled water is included. Alcoholic beverages are the one listed exclusion.
