Rajadamnern in Bangkok, Bangla and Patong in Phuket, Thapae in Chiang Mai and MAX in Pattaya are the six stadiums most visitors use to watch live Muay Thai. This guide covers which nights each runs, how the seats are tiered, how to buy tickets and what a card actually feels like. In Bangkok the choice is between a nightly ring and a weekend one. In Phuket it is between two neighbouring stadiums in Patong.

The short answer for Bangkok is Rajadamnern: it runs every night and sits near the Old City. For Phuket, Bangla Boxing Stadium or Patong Boxing Stadium both put you in a ring within a few minutes of Bangla Road. Chiang Mai’s stadium is Thapae, and Pattaya’s is MAX.

Key Facts:
  • Bangkok: Rajadamnern runs every night. Lumpinee runs Fridays and Saturdays only.
  • Phuket: Bangla Boxing Stadium and Patong Boxing Stadium, both in Patong, both with a first bout around 9 PM.
  • Chiang Mai: Thapae Boxing Stadium on Mun Mueang Road, evening cards with a first bout around 9 PM.
  • Pattaya: MAX Muay Thai Stadium on Sukhumvit Road, an early start around 7 PM.
  • Prices: Entry tiers start at roughly 600 to 1,000 THB. Ringside and VIP seats cost several times that. Check current rates.
  • Checked: We confirmed the ticket listings linked below were active on 8 October 2026. Nights and times change, so read the week’s card before you go.

Muay Thai fights in Bangkok

Bangkok has the most venues of any city here, and two stadiums that matter for visitors: Rajadamnern and Lumpinee. If you only have one night, go to Rajadamnern. If you are in the city on a weekend and want the bigger-name cards, add Lumpinee. Our Muay Thai in Bangkok guide covers the gyms if you would rather train than watch.

Rajadamnern Stadium

Best for first-timers
Rajadamnern Stadium

Rajadamnern Stadium

  • Bangkok
  • Nightly
  • Since 1945

The oldest ring in the sport and the only Bangkok stadium running cards every night. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday are the traditional five-round nights with a loud betting crowd; Saturday is the staged Rajadamnern World Series. Tickets sell on the stadium's own site as well as through resellers.

Area
Old Bangkok · Ratchadamnoen Nok Road, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Bangkok 10100
Hours
Fights every night. Gates open about 5-6 PM depending on the card; box office from 3 PM daily

Seven nights a week, from betting-crowd traditional cards to the Saturday RWS show

Rajadamnern opened in 1945 and calls itself the world’s first Muay Thai stadium. It is the ring most visitors mean when they search “muay thai fight bangkok”, and the Rachadumnoen Boxing Stadium page on our site has the address, coordinates and basics. The stadium’s own site says it seats about 3,500 around a circular ring.

The card changes by night. Each night is a different promoter’s event:

  1. Monday, Tuesday and Friday: Rajadamnern Knockout. Three-round bouts, sold on a high knockout rate.
  2. Wednesday: New Power. Five-round traditional format.
  3. Thursday: Petchyindee. Five rounds, technical fighters and a heavy local betting crowd.
  4. Saturday: Rajadamnern World Series (RWS). Three-round bouts with open scoring after every round and, per the stadium’s site, free-flow beer. This is the most produced night.
  5. Sunday: Kiatpetch. A mix of three and five-round bouts.

If you want the loudest, most local night, pick Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday. If you want a polished show with a young foreign crowd, pick Saturday. A Viator listing for the stadium notes that public betting is not typically a feature of the Saturday events, while the traditional nights have it in the second and third class sections.

Insider Tip: The stadium’s official calendar lists gates at 5 PM on the Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday cards and 6 PM on the Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday cards. Arrive for gates. The wai kru (the pre-fight ritual dance) and the live orchestra open every bout, and they are part of what you came for.

Seats at Rajadamnern, cheapest to priciest:

  • 3rd class: No assigned seats, highest vantage point, 360-degree view of the ring.
  • 2nd class (Leo section): Full view of the ring and the legal betting.
  • Club class: Better view and access to food and drink kiosks.
  • Singha Ringside: The closest seats to the ring.
  • VIP Lounge: Balcony, sofa and paired seats, plus a private bar.
  • Superior Panoramic Balcony: Limited to 15 guests on Saturday RWS nights.

On resellers’ July 2026 listings the range runs from roughly 1,000 THB in third class to around 4,500 THB for the VIP lounge. Our own attraction page gives a similar range. Treat both as a guide, not a quote.

How to book: Buy on rajadamnern.com, where each night’s event page links to a ticket seller. The box office opens daily at 3 PM, but popular nights such as RWS sell out. If you prefer a reseller, two Viator listings are active for Rajadamnern: Skip the Line: Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai Tickets and Muay Thai Fight Night Ticket at Rajadamnern Stadium. The second names a VIP lounge tier with free-flow beer.

Getting there: A short taxi or Grab ride from Khao San Road and the Old Town. Show the driver the Thai name, สนามมวยเวทีราชดำเนิน.

Lumpinee Boxing Stadium

Lumpinee Boxing Stadium

Lumpinee Boxing Stadium

  • Bangkok
  • Friday and Saturday
  • North of the centre

Friday nights belong to ONE Championship (a mixed Muay Thai, kickboxing and MMA production); Saturdays carry the stadium's own championship cards. About a 30-minute drive from downtown, so budget the trip in both directions.

Area
Bang Khen, north Bangkok · 6 Ram Inthra Road, Anusawari, Bang Khen, Bangkok 10220
Hours

Army-run stadium on the outskirts, fights on Friday and Saturday only

Lumpinee is the other great name. The army has run it since 1956, and it moved from Rama IV Road to its current site on Ram Inthra Road in 2014. Our Lumpini Boxing Stadium page has the phone number and a photo of the entrance.

Fights run on Fridays and Saturdays only. Friday is ONE Championship’s weekly production, a mix of Muay Thai, kickboxing and MMA. That is a good show but not the traditional card. Saturday carries the stadium’s own championship cards, 8 to 10 bouts that run up to three hours. Once a month there is a Saturday-morning ONE Fight Night. Lumpinee is the pick if your trip includes a weekend and you want the highest-profile fighters.

Insider Tip: A Lumpinee listing on Viator warns that third class seats cannot be reserved in advance and are filled first come, first served at check-in. If you want the cheapest tier, plan to arrive early rather than relying on the ticket.

Getting there: It is about a 30-minute drive from downtown towards Don Mueang Airport. A reseller’s guide dated 2026 also lists the MRT Pink Line, Ram Inthra 3 station. Work out the return leg before the last bout, because the stadium is far from the centre.

How to book: Check the date on Lumpinee’s current event listing, then book through a reseller. Viator lists a Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai Fight Night ticket with ringside, second class and third class options. Confirm direct with the stadium on 0 2522 6843 if the date matters.

Watch out: Bangkok has other, smaller rings (World Siam Stadium, Channel 7 Stadium and MBK Center among them). We have not verified their current schedules for this guide, so check before you travel.

Muay Thai fights in Phuket

Phuket’s fights are concentrated in Patong, a few minutes’ walk from Bangla Road and Jungceylon. There are two stadiums, and visitors regularly confuse them. For gyms and training camps rather than fights, see our Muay Thai in Phuket guide.

Bangla Boxing Stadium

Bangla Boxing Stadium

  • Patong
  • Walkable
  • Evening cards

Sits a short walk from Bangla Road and Jungceylon, which makes it the easiest ring to add to a night out in Patong. Six to eight bouts per card, stadium or VIP ringside seats.

Area
Patong, Phuket · Soi Banzaan, behind Jungceylon, opposite Banzaan Market, Patong

Patong's walk-in stadium, a few minutes from Bangla Road

Bangla Boxing Stadium is on Soi Banzaan, behind Jungceylon and opposite Banzaan Market. Reseller sites describe walking to the end of Soi Bangla and crossing the main road. Our Bangla Boxing Stadium page has the basics.

Cards start about 9 PM with doors around 8 to 8:30 PM, six to eight bouts per night and two tiers of seating: stadium seats and VIP ringside. The stadium’s Facebook page says it runs every night, a Viator listing says Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and reseller calendars list it on some dates and Patong Boxing Stadium on others. Do not assume a night. Confirm the date on your ticket.

Watch out: The websites that rank for “Bangla Boxing Stadium tickets” are resellers, not the stadium. At least one says so in its own small print. They are fine to buy from, but compare the rate against the Viator listing before paying.

How to book: Two Viator listings are active: Bangla Boxing Stadium Muay Thai Ticket in Phuket (free transfer from Patong, Kata and Karon is in the listing) and Patong Muay Thai Tickets at Bangla Boxing Stadium (optional shuttle, reserve by 6:30 PM).

Patong Boxing Stadium (Sainamyen)

Patong Boxing Stadium (Sainamyen)

Patong Boxing Stadium (Sainamyen)

  • Patong
  • Free shuttle
  • Monday to Saturday

A Patong stadium on Sainamyen Road, off the Bangla Road strip. The stadium's own site offers a free shuttle to hotels in Patong, Kata and Karon and takes bookings on WhatsApp.

Air-conditioned stadium with free hotel shuttle from Patong, Kata and Karon

Patong Boxing Stadium sits off Sainamyen Road, opposite Nanai Road, slightly tucked away. The stadium’s own site lists fights Monday to Saturday nights and offers a free shuttle to hotels in Patong, Kata and Karon, with bookings on WhatsApp. Its social posts describe an air-conditioned stadium and “pay on arrival” for walk-in bookings. Our Patong Boxing Stadium page covers the basics.

Expect six to eight bouts starting about 9 PM, stadium seats around 1,500 THB and ringside around 1,800 THB (resellers’ 2026 listings, usually with a T-shirt). A Viator listing, Muay Thai Boxing Match Action at Patong Stadium, sells the same stadium or ringside choice, and our own tour page for it has the details.

Insider Tip: If your hotel is in Patong, Kata or Karon, the free shuttle matters more than the stadium name. Ask the stadium or your ticket seller whether pickup is included for the date, since terms differ by listing.

Bangla or Patong? Bangla is the easier add-on to a Bangla Road night. Patong (Sainamyen) has the free shuttle from three beaches and an air-conditioned room. If you are choosing between them for a first visit, pick whichever is running on your night and ask the shuttle question first. Both are in Patong, and our Phuket nightlife guide shows what else is nearby.

Muay Thai fights in Chiang Mai

Thapae Boxing Stadium

  • Chiang Mai
  • Old City
  • Evening cards

The Chiang Mai stadium most visitors end up at, on Mun Mueang Road by Thapae Gate. Local-gym fighters mix with foreign visitors on cards of six to seven bouts.

Old City ring a few minutes from Thapae Gate

Thapae Boxing Stadium is on Mun Mueang Road in the Old City, close to Thapae Gate. Reseller listings say evening cards run Monday to Saturday with doors around 8 PM and a first bout around 9 PM, six to seven bouts, in standard, ringside and VIP tiers. A Facebook post from the stadium describes a different pattern (Monday, Thursday and Saturday), so confirm the date directly.

Chiang Mai’s gyms feed the card, and the matches mix local-gym fighters with foreign ones. If you are staying in the city, this is the easiest stadium night of the four cities because you can walk or take a short songthaew (shared red truck taxi) ride from the Old City. Our Muay Thai in Chiang Mai guide lists the gyms the fighters train at, and things to do in Chiang Mai fills the daytime.

How to book: Viator lists a Thapae Stadium Muay Thai Boxing Experience ticket. We have not found an official Thapae site, so use the listing or ask the stadium on the day.

Muay Thai fights in Pattaya

MAX Muay Thai Stadium

  • Pattaya
  • Short show
  • Early evening

A purpose-built arena on Sukhumvit Road with a short, roughly two-hour show and an early start. Fighters come from several countries.

Compact modern arena next to King Power Pattaya

MAX Muay Thai Stadium is the Pattaya answer. It is a modern arena on Sukhumvit Road next to King Power Pattaya, with a short card of about five fights and an early start. A ticket-site listing says weekday doors open around 6:20 PM with the first fight at 7 PM and a finish around 9 PM. A Viator listing gives 6:40 PM and 7 PM for weekdays and 7:20 PM and 7:45 PM for weekends. Confirm the time for your date. The weekday Thursday event is billed as “The Global Fight”.

It suits anyone who wants fights without a midnight finish. For other Pattaya ideas, see things to do in Pattaya.

How to book: Viator’s Max Muay Thai Pattaya Night Fight Experience names the stadium directly. A second listing, MAX Muay Thai Gym Pattaya Match Ticket, runs about 70 minutes and is sold under the “gym” name. Read each description before choosing.

What to expect on the night

A Muay Thai card is a run of bouts, each preceded by the wai kru ram muay, the pre-fight ritual in which each fighter walks the ring and pays respect to teachers, family and the sport. A live piphat orchestra (oboe and drums) plays through the bouts. At Rajadamnern the stadium’s own site describes that orchestra as part of the show.

Bouts run three or five rounds depending on the promoter. Expect six to ten bouts per card, a gap between bouts, and a main event late in the night. Phuket and Chiang Mai cards often run to 11 PM or midnight.

Ringside vs the stands: Ringside is the closest view and the loudest seat. A Viator listing calls it “immersive (and loudest)”. You will see the clinch and hear the pad of the shin. The stands give you the full ring, the crowd and, at Rajadamnern, the betting in second and third class.

Betting: At Rajadamnern, betting is legal and public in the second and third class sections on traditional nights. You do not need to take part. It is worth knowing about because it explains why the stands are as loud as they are.

Food and drink: Rajadamnern’s ticket listings say outside food and drink are not allowed and that snacks and beer are on sale inside. Check each venue’s rules.

Photos: A Rajadamnern ticket listing says flash is prohibited near the ring and that filming fights is forbidden because of broadcasting rights. Phone photos are generally fine without flash.

Buying tickets safely

  1. Start with the stadium. Rajadamnern sells through its own site. Patong Boxing Stadium takes bookings on its own WhatsApp number. For the others, we could not verify an official ticketing page.
  2. Use a named reseller for the rest. Viator lists active stadium tickets for each venue above. They are not the stadium, so the rate, seat tier and cancellation rules come from the listing. Read them. Several of the listings we checked are final sale, so confirm your dates before paying.
  3. Know what you are buying. Some Viator listings are an e-voucher you swap for a physical ticket at the stadium entrance. Allow 30 to 60 minutes before the first fight, as one Rajadamnern listing advises.
  4. Check the cut-off. Booking cut-offs differ by listing. One Rajadamnern listing closes 48 hours before; another closes at 4:30 PM on the day.
  5. Skip street offers. Anyone selling “ringside” on the street near Khao San Road or Bangla Road is selling at their own price, not the stadium’s. Buy at the box office or from a listing you can read.

Watch out: A ticket for a venue is not a ticket for a specific night’s card. Read the date, the event name and the seat tier on the confirmation, and keep it open on your phone.

What to wear and when to arrive

There is no formal dress code. Rajadamnern’s own FAQ recommends light, breathable clothing for the weather. Rajadamnern’s Viator listing says casual clothes are generally fine. Smaller Bangkok stadiums can have their own rules (one reseller says Channel 7 Stadium requires collared shirts and closed shoes), so check before you go to a smaller ring.

Arrive for gates rather than the first bout. At Rajadamnern, the box office opens at 3 PM. In Phuket and Chiang Mai, cards start about 9 PM, so dinner first. Plan the return trip before the main event if you rely on a shuttle.

Plan the rest of your trip

Fights pair well with a full day in the city. Things to do in Bangkok and our Bangkok nightlife guide cover the rest of the evening. If you want to move from watching to doing, start with the national Muay Thai gyms in Thailand guide.

For a night out in Phuket, the Phuket nightlife guide shows where Bangla Road sits relative to both stadiums. In Chiang Mai, the Night Bazaar is a short ride from Thapae.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the best place to watch Muay Thai in Bangkok?
Rajadamnern Stadium is the best first choice, because it runs a card every night and sits close to the Old City. Lumpinee is the other major ring but only runs on Fridays and Saturdays and is about a 30-minute drive north of the centre. Check the current card before you buy, since the nightly promoters change.
Which nights does Rajadamnern Stadium have fights?
Every night. The stadium's own site lists Rajadamnern Knockout on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, New Power on Wednesday, Petchyindee on Thursday, the Rajadamnern World Series on Saturday and Kiatpetch on Sunday. Gates open around 5 PM or 6 PM depending on the card.
Which nights does Lumpinee Stadium have fights?
Fridays and Saturdays. Fridays are ONE Championship events and Saturdays carry the stadium's own championship cards, with an occasional ONE Fight Night on a Saturday morning. Confirm the date on the stadium or ticket listing, because the schedule shifts.
Where can I watch Muay Thai in Phuket?
Two stadiums in Patong cover most visitors. Bangla Boxing Stadium sits behind Jungceylon opposite Banzaan Market, and Patong Boxing Stadium is on Sainamyen Road. Both start around 9 PM. Nights vary by source, so confirm the week's card before you go.
Do I need to book Muay Thai tickets in advance?
For Rajadamnern's Saturday Rajadamnern World Series and for Lumpinee Friday cards, yes. Premium seats sell out first. On quieter weeknights in Patong and Chiang Mai you can often buy at the box office, but booking ahead guarantees the tier you want.
How much do Muay Thai tickets cost in Thailand?
Entry tiers start at roughly 600 to 1,000 THB at the big venues, and ringside or VIP seats cost several times that. Prices depend on the stadium, the card and the seat. Check the stadium's own site or the ticket listing for current rates.
Can children go to Muay Thai fights?
Rajadamnern says there is no age limit, and reseller pages for the Phuket and Chiang Mai stadiums say families are welcome. Ticket rules for young children differ by venue and listing, so read the child policy before you book. Parents should expect noise and the occasional knockout.
Is betting allowed at Muay Thai stadiums?
Rajadamnern describes legal public betting in its second and third class sections on traditional card nights. You are not expected to bet, and the Saturday World Series is not typically a betting night.
