Villa Lamai is a four-bedroom pool villa on the Samujana estate that sleeps eight adults. Its draw is the lower level, which holds a private cinema, a bar and a games room. Choeng Mon Beach is 900 m away and Samui airport is 4 km.
A villa with a basement of its own
The living room and a ten-seat dining room open onto terraces and a saltwater infinity pool on the ground floor. The master bedroom is up here too, with a Jacuzzi bathtub and rain shower. The other three bedrooms sit one level down, each with a terrace and a bathtub. Two have king beds and one has twin beds that convert to a double.
Downstairs the cinema, bar and pool table share a lounge, and there is a small indoor slide for younger children. The name belongs to the villa, not the beach area.
Breakfast arrives in the villa each morning, and a timetabled shuttle runs to Central Festival in Chaweng.
Insider Tip: Give the ground-floor master to the couple who want the Jacuzzi and put teenagers or friends in the lower rooms, which are close to the cinema and games room. Ask the manager to book a chef for a film night, since the bar is already next to the screen.
