This is a six-hour speedboat day trip from Krabi to the Hong Island group, with beach time, a lagoon, a viewpoint and snorkelling in one outing. It suits travellers who want several island stops without arranging their own boats, since the hotel round-trip transfer is part of the package.
What the day looks like
Pickup comes first, by minivan from hotels in Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Ao Nam Mao, Klong Muang and Tubkaek Beach. Guests staying at Railay Beach are collected by speedboat instead. At Nopparat Thara Pier in Ao Nang the boat crew gives a short introduction to the trip, and the boat then calls at Railay Beach to pick up other guests.
The first main stop is Hong Island itself, with 90 minutes on the itinerary. The half-circle island is uninhabited apart from birds, white-faced gibbons and giant monitor lizards, which are often spotted on the main white sand beach. The stop includes the panoramic 360-degree viewpoint, and anyone who has booked the kayak option can paddle around the island at their own pace.
Lunch, with seasonal fruit and refreshments, is served at the twin bays of Koh Hong. The island’s interior holds a large lagoon, entered through a cliff passage that is best photographed on the way out. After that the boat continues to Koh Pakbia for photos and a swim on the sandbars that appear at low tide.
The tour includes at least two snorkelling stops of 45 minutes each. The best one is at Koh Lading, a small limestone island with high cliffs and sandy, sheltered beaches.
Good to know
Meet at Nopparat Thara Pier in Ao Nang at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, unless you are collected from your hotel. Included are lunch, an English-speaking guide, basic accident insurance, snorkelling equipment with a life jacket, drinking water, fruit and the hotel round trip. Kayak equipment is included only if you book the kayak option. The National Park entrance fee and personal expenses are paid separately. Groups are up to 45 guests, and the activity level is listed as moderate.

Ao Nang
Get picked up by minivan from your hotel in Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Ao Nam Mao, Klong Muang and Tubkaek Beach, or by speed boat if you stay at Railay Beach.
Meet the boat crew at Nopparat Thara Pier, where you get a short introduction and information about the trip to the four islands of the Hong Island group.
Railay Beach
Cruise by speed boat to Railay Beach to pickup other guests.
Hong Island
Continue to Hong Island group with a stop at the main island itself. The half-circle shaped Hong Island is uninhabited, except for the birds, white-faced gibbons and giant monitor lizards that can be often spotted on the main white sand beach.
You will have a plenty of time to take in the beauty of this superb island including the spectacular panoramic 360° viewpoint. For those who booked the kayaking option, you can explore the surrounding of Hong Island at your own pace.
Koh Hong
Enjoy a delicious lunch including seasonal fruits and refreshments at the magnificent twin bays of Koh Hong.
Its interior is home to a large lagoon, where you can find yourself at one with nature. The entrance to the lagoon is through a dramatic cliff passage that should be photographed on your way out.
Pak Bia Island
Continue to Pakbia Island for taking photos and have a swim at the impressive sandbars revealed at low tide.
The tour will include at least two pretty decent snorkeling stops of 45 minutes each. The most impressive one is at Lading Island, a small limestone island with high cliffs and sandy sheltered beaches.
