Five stops thread through Phang Nga Bay on this 9-hour day trip out of Phuket: Panak Island’s lagoon, Hong Island’s mangrove caves, James Bond Island, the floating village of Koh Panyee and the white sand of Koh Rang.
Pickup runs from 7:45am across Patong, Chalong, Kathu, Karon, Kata and Phuket Town hotels. At Hong Island, a local canoe crew leads a roughly 30-40 minute paddle into the mangrove forest and caves, close enough to see the stalactites and stalagmites overhead. James Bond Island gets a full hour: the limestone spire made famous by the Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun rises up to 50 metres from the water, with souvenir stalls and cave openings nearby.
Lunch — a halal and vegetarian buffet — is served on Koh Panyee, the stilt village built over the bay, where a mosque, a school and a floating football pitch all sit on the water. The last stop, Koh Rang, trades sightseeing for swim time: free beach chairs and roughly 50 minutes to snorkel or sit by clear water before the boat heads back to the pier.
