Villa Karawek is a five-bedroom villa sleeping 10, with four king bedrooms and a bunk room for children. It has its own spa room for Thai massage, a gym and a saltwater pool. Karawek is a 4 km transfer from Samui airport and roughly 900 m from the sand at Choeng Mon.
A spa room, a sunset deck and a bunk room
Four king bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with a bathtub and shower. One is the master, with a private terrace. Another is on the lower ground floor beside the gym and spa room, and the rest lead onto the garden or terraces. The bunk room, on the first floor, can be combined with a neighbouring bedroom to form a family suite.
The pool deck runs across every level, joining the living rooms and bedrooms to the water. A sunset deck faces the coral cove and the islands beyond. Inside there is a TV room with a 42-inch screen and surround sound, and a dining area for 12, two more than the villa sleeps.
A stocked wine fridge and minibar sit in the house. The villa manager books therapists for the spa room.
Insider Tip: If you travel with two children, ask for the bunk room to be combined with the bedroom beside it as a family suite. The manager can also book a nanny for an evening out.
Who it suits
- Private spa room and gym in the house
- Pool deck spans every level
- Dining for 12 allows two guests beyond the beds
- Family suite option with bunk room
- Five bedrooms, but only four are kings, so eight adults is the comfortable limit
- Hillside layout means stairs between levels
- Therapists and chef are extra
Families of up to 10 and friends who want massages at home suit it best. Villa Duanphen is the smaller four-bedroom option with a gym, and Villa Busara is bigger with eight bedrooms. Nearby, Choeng Mon has the beach, Big Buddha and Fisherman’s Village are a short drive. More in our Koh Samui guide.
