Art in Paradise
พิพิธภัณฑ์ภาพวาดสามมิติ
Art in Paradise is a 3D trick-art museum on the Na Kluea side of Bang Lamung, where every painting is built to be photographed rather than just viewed. Floor markers show where to stand so a flat wall mural lines up into a 3D scene once you’re in frame — a tiger appears to leap toward you, a staircase looks like it drops into a chasm, a wine glass swallows you whole. Adult entry is 400 THB for foreign visitors (200 THB Thai), and the museum runs daily from 09:00 to 21:00.
The rooms are grouped by theme — underwater scenes with oversized sea creatures, a safari zone with tigers and eagles, an Egyptian hall, an M.C. Escher-style room of impossible stairs. Each illusion only resolves from a specific angle, so working the floor markers properly matters more than the art itself; step off-mark and the perspective trick falls apart. Staff in the busier rooms are used to helping visitors pose and will often take the photo for you. Expect 1.5-2 hours to get through the full building without rushing, longer if there’s a queue for the popular rooms.
The whole building is air-conditioned, which makes it a reliable rainy-day or midday-heat option in a city built around outdoor beach time. It’s less about fine art and more about the shared joke of a painted scene turning three-dimensional the moment a phone camera lines it up — kids tend to get it instantly, and most adults end up playing along within a room or two regardless of how they felt walking in.
Watch out: Weekend afternoons draw tour groups, and the best illusions — the floating staircase, the collapsing bridge — build a short line. Arrive close to opening or after 5pm for a clearer run of the rooms.
Insider Tip: Wear plain, solid-colour clothing. Busy patterns clash with the painted backgrounds and make the illusion less convincing in photos.

Art in Paradise is a genuine brand — not a generic trick-art copycat — with a second, separately run branch in Chiang Mai that uses the same format with different artwork. If a rainy day calls for another indoor stop nearby, the 4D Miniature Thai Royal Barge Performance Center is a short taxi ride away in East Pattaya.
