Flora Park is a seasonal flower garden and agricultural learning centre in Wang Nam Khiao district, on the cooler southern edge of the Khao Yai area — a district known locally for some of the cleanest air readings in Thailand. It only opens for the cool season, from 1 November to 28 February each year, when the garden’s roses and winter flowers are in bloom; outside that window the park is closed.

The site splits into themed zones rather than one continuous garden: a verbena field, an orchid garden, a vertical garden, a bamboo tunnel, and an Exotic Garden holding more than 2,000 English roses. AR displays are worked into the Flora Park zone, letting visitors point a phone at parts of the maze-like flower beds for augmented-reality overlays, alongside an exhibition hall showing paintings by Thai artists. A four-storey lookout, the Flora Tower View, gives an overview of the flower maze below, and a smaller Love Prayer Hall lets visitors ring a bell said to bring good fortune in relationships. A tram links the flower zone to the separate Rose Garden Zone.

Beyond the ornamental gardens, Flora Park doubles as a working agricultural centre — organic vegetable demonstration plots, a coffee plantation, and vineyard rows sit alongside the flower beds, and an on-site OTOP shop sells produce grown there. Restaurants and souvenir stalls cluster near the entrance and tram stops, so it’s easy to make a half-day of it without leaving the grounds.

Early morning is the best time to visit: light is softer for photos and the temperature — already several degrees cooler than lowland Khao Yai — is more comfortable for walking between zones. The garden gets busy with domestic tour groups on weekends in January, the peak of the flowering season, so a weekday visit means more room to move.

Insider Tip: Visit on a weekday morning in January if possible — that’s peak bloom for the rose collection, and weekday crowds are a fraction of the weekend tour-bus numbers.

Watch out: The park only operates 1 November–28 February. Outside that window there’s nothing to see here — check dates before planning a special trip.
