1 Hour Phuket ATV on Tour + Big Buddha

Activity provider: Oh-Hoo

Reviewed Jul 2026

Highlights

  • ATV ride through jungle terrain
  • Small-group format throughout
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off included
  • Led by a local guide

A one-hour ATV ride through Phuket’s rubber plantations ends at the Big Buddha statue, with round-trip hotel transfer included from Patong, Kata, Karon, Rawai, or Chalong. Groups run up to 15 people, from $46, and no ATV licence is required.

The Experience: the route cuts through farm tracks and plantation roads on the south side of the island before climbing toward Big Buddha, where riders get a break to look over the coastline and hear a short explanation of the statue from the guide. A briefing happens before you set off, full instruction and a helmet included, and children can ride along as a passenger rather than at the controls. The whole loop, riding included, wraps inside the hour.

Drinking water, accident insurance for rider and passenger, a first aid kit, safety equipment, and a raincoat on wet days are all included, though the insurance doesn’t cover damage to the ATV itself. Transfers from areas outside the five listed beaches cost extra — 300 THB per person for Phuket Town, up to 2,000 THB per car for Maikhao. No alcohol is allowed before or during the ride, and the operator can stop anyone riding unsafely without a refund.

Fine for beginners and families with young kids riding as passengers; skip it if you have a spinal condition, cardiovascular problems, or are pregnant, since the operator specifically advises against it.

Safety Tip: a helmet and safety equipment are provided and required for every rider — riders must be in good physical and mental condition, since no alcohol is permitted before the ride.
