Budo-Su-ngai Padi National Park (Pacho Waterfall)
The terrain is generally high and complex with Khao Tawei as the highest peak at 1,182 metres above sea level. It is also the source of many rivers, e.g., Saiburi River, Khlong Bacho, etc., and many valuable tree species, especially palm bangsun, hornbills and “Bauhinia aureifolia” or “Daerah Dao”. Bauhinia aureifolia is a large creeper that has golden leaves and soft, velvet-like skin. The shape is similar to the dwarf white bauhinia or purple bauhinia leaves but larger. There are jagged edges in both the base and the leaf tip. It is commonly found in the Budo Forest and around the Park office. It is assumed that the world’s first was discovered here. Important tourist attractions in the Park include Pacho Waterfall that is located in the area of Ban Pacho and is a large waterfall. It has water all-year round and the Waterfall has seven levels that is 60 metres high. The first level is the largest and most beautiful. The stream will flow down from the wide rock terrace into the big basin below. In the area of the Park, there are also many beautiful natural resources, as well as a history with the past and stories about the extremist groups of the Budo and the Pulo movements. At present, Budo-Su-ngai Padi is a wonderland where only the beauty of nature can be admired and preserved. Entrance fee for foreign visitors: 200 baht (children 100 baht); Thai visitors 20 baht.
