Jim Thompson Farm

Jim Thompson Farm is a seasonal flower-field and working-farm attraction in Pak Thong Chai district, roughly 30 km south of Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) city — not, as sometimes assumed, anywhere near Khao Yai National Park, which sits a considerable distance further north. Historically it opened for about a month each year, from early December into January, timed to coincide with cool-season flower blooms.
The farm did not run its usual tour in 2025. The operator paused the annual Farm Tour to redevelop infrastructure and expand its programming, and has publicly stated an “enhanced edition” is planned for December 2026. As of mid-2026, exact 2026 dates, hours, and ticket prices hadn’t been confirmed — this is a seasonal, not year-round, attraction, so check the farm’s official site or Facebook page before building a trip around it.
In past standard seasons, the draw was large fields of cosmos, sunflowers, and other cool-season flowers laid out in blocks across the farm’s grounds, alongside working rice paddies and vegetable plots that tie back to the farm’s agricultural roots rather than a purely ornamental garden. Shaded rest areas and walking paths ran between the sections, and the farm was typically busiest on weekends during its short opening window.
Watch out: Because the farm only opens for a few weeks a year and its 2026 schedule wasn’t finalised at time of writing, don’t plan a Korat trip around Jim Thompson Farm without confirming current dates first — travellers arriving outside the tour window in past years have found the gates closed.
Private transport is the practical way to get here — it’s well outside central Korat and not on a regular public transport route, though tour operators have historically included it in day trips from Korat and occasionally from Bangkok during the open season. Bring sun protection and shoes suited to dirt paths if the farm reopens as planned.
