Wellness & Spa in Thailand
28 tours across 7 destinations
Wellness day tours are a gentler half-day option — a cooking class's length without the chopping. Traditional Thai massage and herbal steam treatments at established spas (usually 2-3 hours) are the most common format. Chiang Mai has a strong base of quiet garden spas, and southern islands (Koh Samui especially) host day passes to resort spas with pool and beach access. If you want meditation rather than massage, there are half-day temple meditation introductions around Chiang Mai and Ayutthaya.

Wellness & Spa in Thailand — FAQ
Is traditional Thai massage actually painful?
It can be firm — it involves stretching and pressure-point work, not just stroking. Tell your therapist "sabai" (comfortable) or "bao bao" (lighter) if it is too intense. Oil massages are gentler than traditional Thai massage.
Are drinks and snacks included?
Most spa packages include herbal tea and a light snack or fruit plate afterwards. Full-day retreats often include a Thai lunch. Check the inclusions list — some packages let you add on extras at the venue.
Can I combine a spa day with other activities?
Yes — many travellers book a morning cooking class or temple tour and an afternoon spa. Half-day spa packages (2-3 hours) fit into a flexible day. Stack the active tour first and the spa second so you can relax afterwards.
Do I need to bring anything?
A swimsuit if the venue has a pool. Most spas provide robe, slippers, and towel. For massage, arrive with freshly washed hair if you're having scalp work. Leave valuables at the hotel.
