Nak Nakara Hotel is a four-star city hotel on Uttarakit Road, right in central Chiang Rai. The Hill Tribe Museum is about three minutes on foot, and the Clock Tower, Night Bazaar and Saturday Walking Street are all within a 10-15 minute walk — close enough to cover before you need a driver for anything further out.
Eight room categories cover most party sizes. Grand Lanna King, Grand Lanna Twin, Naga Twin and Naga Double rooms are each 28 sqm for two guests; the Executive Deluxe Triple is the same 28 sqm but sleeps three. Step up to the 60 sqm Suite for two, or the 54 sqm Family and Connecting rooms for up to four. None come with a kitchen — every room has a fridge and kettle instead, the Suite included.
Facilities run wider than the room count suggests: an outdoor pool with a pool bar, a restaurant, a bar, a fitness room, massage, bicycle hire and a tour desk.
Insider Tip: Use the hotel as your walking base for the old-city sights, then book a driver or day trip for Wat Rong Khun and anything else outside the centre — none of it is reachable on foot from Uttarakit Road.
The Family and Connecting rooms are the clearest four-person options, and the Triple avoids paying for two separate doubles if there are three of you. Self-caterers should look elsewhere — the kitchen equipment here tops out at a fridge and kettle, whatever the room category.
- Eight room categories, 28-60 sqm

- Hill Tribe Museum, Clock Tower and Night Bazaar all walkable
- Family and Connecting rooms sleep four
- No kitchen in any room, including the Suite
- Wat Rong Khun and other big-name temples need a car or tour
- Exact inclusions vary by rate — check before booking
- The Suite is still a two-person room despite the size
