Cavalry center (Adisorn Camp)
ศูนย์การทหารม้า
Adisorn Camp, on Phahon Yothin Road on the edge of Saraburi town, is the Royal Thai Army’s Cavalry Center — a working military base that also opens its horses, a shooting range, and decommissioned tanks to visitors. Entry to the grounds is free; each activity is priced separately.
The horse side is the centre’s signature draw. Riding demonstrations and basic lessons run on weekday afternoons around 16:30-18:00, plus weekends and public holidays, when cavalrymen put mounts through parade-ground drills — precise formations, mounted ceremonial procedures, the kind of horsemanship you won’t see staged anywhere else in Thailand. The stables themselves hold a working mix of training and ceremonial horses, and the grounds carry a working-facility feel rather than a show put on purely for tourists.
Away from the horses, three activities keep most visitors busy for a half-day: a 300 THB tank ride in a decommissioned vehicle with a soldier instructing throughout (the tanks are retired from service, so there’s no live-ammunition risk); a shooting range open daily 09:00-17:00 with rifle and pistol lanes at standard competition distances, staffed by trained range personnel; and the 18-hole Adisorn Golf Club, open to the public on the same grounds.
Insider Tip: Call the base ahead (0 3621 2058-9 ext. 64360) to confirm the riding schedule before driving out — training sessions can be cancelled for base exercises, and it’s a wasted trip if the horses aren’t out.
Watch out: This is an active military installation, not a theme park — modest, plain clothing is expected, and photography of areas outside the visitor activities may be restricted. Follow staff instructions on where cameras are and aren’t welcome.
The centre sits about two hours northeast of Bangkok via Highway 1, in Pak Phriao sub-district on Saraburi’s edge. Mornings are cooler for the outdoor viewing areas around the parade ground and stables.
